Threka

Booking

Please fill out the reservation form for the preferred holiday and await Team Threka’s confirmation.

You can make a payment to Threka’s Indian account by PayPal or UK bank account by bank transfer (free) or credit card (card fee 2.75% applicable).

Visa

We recommend two types of visas. The first is for 30 days, while the second is for one year. A 30-day visa can only be applied for 30 days prior to your date of travel. However, a 1-year visa can be applied four months before your trip and is more expensive.

Search for an Indian visa online. Fake websites are common. Find this one: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in.

Travelling

Simply obtain travel insurance from your home country as soon as you confirm your holiday.

We recommend getting travel vaccinations 4-6 weeks before your trip. Please inform your GP or midwife that you are visiting India. They will be able to advise you on travel vaccines and schedule them for you. If not, any local travel clinics or pharmacies should be able to advise you on this.

In India, the majority of tourist places have decent mobile networks, and you can obtain a mobile sim card with one month of unlimited internet and calls for INR 700 (£7). Free Wi-Fi is accessible in all hotels.

While there are many pharmacies available, it’s recommended to bring your own supplies of medications such as Imodium, paracetamol, travel sickness medicines, and insect repellent.

Some temples do not permit entry to non-Hindus. Strict dress codes are followed in most temples. Footwear is banned inside the temple premises.

Threka and all of our Tutors/Teachers highly welcome beginners or non-experienced persons to all our holidays.

Insurance/Bank

Please be advised that we do not have insurance plans to cover expenses incurred by tourists as a result of accidents, sickness, theft, or other unforeseen events. Foreign visitors are encouraged to obtain short-term travel insurance in their native nation before departing.

We recommend informing your bank that you are traveling abroad and activating the foreign transaction feature on your card. Banks are open for transactions from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Most hotels, restaurants, and retail malls accept major credit/debit cards. ATMs are available in every town.

If you bring more than US $10,000 (or the equivalent in traveller’s cheques or bank notes), you will have to fill in a currency declaration form. You may bring in up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, and two liters of alcohol duty-free. It is illegal to bring non-sporting firearms, narcotics, or gold bullion/coins. The penalties are heavy if these rules are violated.
